Hello fellow gun owners. I finally obtained my pistol license after 16 months of waiting for Nassau County approval. Apparently my 2nd ammendment gives me the right to WAIT!!

Well 16 months of waiting have allowed me time for alot of research and I've decided on the M&P 22 to start, and very soon (2 weeks) it will be the M&P 9 full size. I primarily will be shooting paper targets and looking to join a local pistol club to add some compitition to the mix. When deer season comes around I will likely buy a .44mag. Not sure which yet.

My pistols are not for carry, just target and hunting. I have alot of hobbies, mostly outdoor stuff. I hunt birds every weekend in season with my Shorthaired Pointer. I fish at my lakehouse in the Poconos every weekend in the summer. I shoot alot of skeet and archery. I ride my Yamaha sportbike every chance I get. I really belong in a different state, but most of my clients are in this area, so I'm stuck here for now.
Looking to learn and make new friends here.

Hey guys-
thanks for the welcome. This is a very active board. I like that. I also like that slogan,"the Gunshine state". So many states I would rather live in than NY.

Welcome from Missouri. Congrats on the NY pistol license, I've heard they are hard to get there, heck I heard 32oz Cokes were tuff for a while:)

Welcome from Texas PWGUNNY. Great forum for all things S&W, have fun, learn lots, share what you know.

Sorry to hear of your protracted wait, governments should believe in liberty.

NY

welcome. don't hate the state for sucky gun laws. imo NY has the best of just about anything anybody could want, oceans to mtn's, fingerlakes, fresh/saltwater fishing, shellfish,clams/oysters, hunting, sports, culture, restaurants, flat out pretty, deep harbors (on the north shore), history. if I could afford to have there what I have here, I don't know, maybe. shorts/t shirts/sandals all year round aint bad. a cc permit the same day and pig hunting 24/7 365 on private land. +'s and -'s everywhere. Northport born and raised. I miss hunting with fresh snow rather than heat/skeeters and snakes.
