Just joined this forum, but I've been a S&W fan for 40 years. My first centerfire handgun was a Model 59 - heck, it was the sidearm of Detective Dave Starsky from tv's "Starsky & Hutch", so I had to own one!
When I became a police officer in 1983, I carried my own model 586 4" revolver in a Safariland rig. Carried it for two years, until the township required us to carry township-issued weapons, so we all were issued H&K P7-M8's, very light and compact, great for on-and-off duty and plain-clothes assignments.
I just got back into the "S&W fold" with the purchase of a model 659 in really nice condition!
