Love the Oregon coast. Had the honor of attending Sgt Gooddings funeral when he was murdered in the line of duty. The number of citizens lining the procession route was incredible. Good reminder that the overwhelming majority of folks still support the police. Unfortunately Portland and Eugene ruin it for everyone else.

That was a huge blow to our community. I didn't know him, but we had mutual friends. That was also when I woke up to the fact that there are really bad guys everywhere. Up until that point, I carried here in town somewhat sporadically. After that, when I put on my pants there's a holster on the belt, and when I leave the house there's a gun in it.
