Hey new to the forum and just picked up a sigma 40 it is the first gen. took it to the range and had some light strike issues using magtech brass. Have been doing some reading it beleive someone put the lighter spring in the gun to make the trigger pull lighter, because the trigger does not feel tough at all. I have ordered the stock striker spring and picked up 250 rounds of 4 different brands of brass to try out this weekend. I LOVE the way the gun shoots just need to take care of the light strikes. I took it apart and cleaned it real well did the BIC pen test and it seems to pop the pen a pretty good distance so maybee the cleaning will do the trick. Anyone know of any good step by step tutorials on replacing the striker spring? will take and post pictures of her soon! wanted to introduce myself and let you all know what i am up to so i can share my progress with this gun!

i had a sigma .40 cal in the early 2000's. it was a good gun with good ergonomics.....i got snobbish and sold it to fund another glock.....however i wouldnt mind having a sigma 9mm in stainless today if finances allowed.

ok guys need a little bit of help here. after looking around and researching i have determined the previous owner of this sigma put a glock striker assembly into it and i beleive that is why i am having the FTF. I have black plastic pieces on my assembly and according to this s&w are white. also my firing pin looks exactly like the glock firing pin on this posting Zombie Squad • View topic - S&W Sigma--a review and test (56k beware) i cannot seem to find anywere that sells the stock striker assembly for my sigma i have the model SW40V its the grey one would also like a replacement grey rear slide cap as well. any help finding a good place to order these parts would be greatly appreciated. i tried brownells for a new striker spring and got a spring that does not even go to my sigma.

thank you for that... i am still running into a problem though. Next to the Striker there is the @ symbol and on the bottom of the order screen it says @= Factory Installed only..... Thus meaning i cant order the striker. I do not need the factory to install the stiker it is a very simple task and i find it rediculouse that i cannot buy the striker anywere. I really like the sigma but the parts ordering is getting to be very frustrating.

i called and was told that the striker can not be sold because it comes in different sizes? that is odd to me that if i give a model number on a gun they do not know what striker to put in it. on there order form there are 3 strikers a standard a .423 and a .418... as far as i am concerned i just need the standard which i would assume came stock with the gun. i know other people have had issues with the firing pin at one time so have you all really sent it to the factory to be repaired?

I would send it to S&W and let them fix it. They may or may not charge you but it will come back right.

right now that is my only option. It sure burns me having to pay them to do it knowing how simple it is. And i trust my work especially on this sigma it is so simple to tare down and re assemble. S&W told me it would be around a 50-60 dollar fix so i will be sending it out

i am an old timer.....we always had revolvers for duty work....back in the early 90's the sheriff dept switched over to the SW40F...once i got to shoot it i really liked it....it was just like shooting the old revolvers...since then i have owned more the i should have.....it is a very good gun once you get use to it....good luck & welcome
