I made this over the weekend. It's for my 617 because I like carrying on my belt instead of having to cart around another bigger shooting bag. My 617 has been worked over a lot with a complete action job as per Jerry Miculek's video. I also cut the forcing cone to 11 º.

Trigger pull right now is set at 8 pound so I can shoot any ammo in this gun. If I stay with Federal BYOB I can get away with 6.5 pounds. Yes, I play with the strain screw and use Loctite to keep it from moving.

I use a stock mainspring and was shooting with an 11 pound rebound spring but I have a 13 on order. I outran the trigger a couple of times last week at our Steel Challenge Match so I'm going to fix that.

I truly enjoyed the match. Lots of old friends in my squad and almost everyone was 70 or older. Wow can we remember our better runs. Most of the stories were lies but it was great hearing all of them.

Great leatherwork skills. Mind sharing the process/steps to create it?

I've attempted to make leather holsters at home but never anything decent.

Thank you.

The biggest thing to do is your pattern. I designed this myself. It had to be cut further down than most holster to be able to accept the C-More Railway Sight.

I started by making a paper pattern, transfered it to cardboard so it will last longer. Trace the pattern on 7 ounce leather and reverse it and trace on 3 - 4 ounce for the lining.

Glue both pieces together then cut around them with a very sharp knife. I use a Head Knife.

Use an edger to put a line on the holster for your stitching. I like to cut my holes then and afterwards dye my project. This one is chocolate.

I stitch around the entire holster except where the web is going to be. Once I'm done I trace the web and cut the holes for it. Glue it in place and then the holster is done. I then use Resolene to protect it before dunking it in warm water with soap. This helps it keep it's shape after molding.

Then I use wax then Resolene again and let it dry.

Basically that's it.
