Hello all,
I'm new here.. and have just begun my S&W collecting journey.
Lately, as I'm getting older (50).. I've gotten out the guns I've had for the last 30 years.. and reminiscing about growing up with them on the farm (NW- Pennsylvania). These were all utilitarians- and not safe-queens. However, they have barely been used in the last 30 years... so most are in very good condition.
I'm no gun-nut, or really a "collector"... but I have an appreciation for what these guns are.. and there are a couple I would like to find.
What brings me here to the SW Forum.. is my interest in the K-frame revolvers. I grew up using my Father's 1960 vintage K22... as a target/hunting pistol. I have taken squirrel, rabbit and a few groundhogs with it. We had horses- so the groundhogs were taken when the opportunity was there. The K22 isn't the most ideal.. but worked very well with good shot-placement.
I will be here looking for a 1960's vintage K38 and a K32... (give-or-take a few years). I guess I'm just looking to make a "matching" set of the K-Frame offerings from that period. I'm not looking for collector-quality guns, but descent original guns in good operating condition. I will posting the same in the proper forum soon.
I'm just beginning to educate myself on the different K-Frame models- so any help-direction would be welcome and appreciated. I have a lot to learn.
Thanks,
Ray
