I was on the S&W website, and noticed a huge price reduction from last year, a 642 that was $616 list, is now listed at $449 retail!

Have the wholesale costs decreased also, or did they just reduce the list??

Let the deflation begin! I suspect S&W is trying to keep sales of Airweights up as it's their number one seller. Everyone is having to lower prices to get sales nowdays.

Bud's is selling no-lock Airweights for $361 and that includes the price of shipping. There was a time when I was happy to get ~used~ Airweights for that price.

The dealer(wholesale) prices dropped about $50. This was not hard to do, since they have been offering the $50 rebate for a while before January 1. The question is how many retailers will give the customer a break. Bud's is a good place to business with. I took delivery yesterday on a Kel-Tec carbine for one of my clients. I bought a 2.5" M642 with LaserGrips in March on sale from one of my distributors for $590. The same gun now is $489, a $100 discount. Just about all of the J-frames that have been reduced are available in the no lock version as well. Now's the time to buy, for sure. Bob!

I got my new 438 locally for $349 back in December and sent out for the S&W $50 rebate.

Good deal, I may have to get an Airweight Centennial for that price, just to use with a Hip Grip so I have something to carry when I'm wearing windpants.:)

Is it a no-lock? The product # for Buds Guns is 163438 and is listed as a no-lock, but S&W site does not indicate that 163438 is without the lock

If yours is a no-lock, what is its product code? thanks

Nope, it's got the lock. I'm actually waiting for a PLUG from Bullseye Smith to get rid of it. The product code on my box is 163438 also.
