Just picked one up, it came with Midwestern rails and I just got some Troy flip up sights for it.

I have not shot it yet for a couple of reasons (lack of ammo, time, polar vortex...) And assembling as money permits...

I want a Bi pod for it and am confused if I need to get an adapter for it and I know Harris makes good stuff but any other recommendations for bi -pods? Will a bi pod mount to the rail or do I need a adapter.

Also want a vertical type grip and replace the GI type stock. I have read several posts on how to change out the stock, im looking for easiest (im no gun smith) and best quality, I like the fixed Magpul type (model escapes me right now), any other quality full size stock that does not require an engendering degree to install?

And optics is yet another can of worms, I know noting about glass but learning from your wisdom on the matter, Nikon looks like a good option and other suggestions. Sling and light are next. Am I forgetting anything? Thank you in advance for and wisdom you may impart!

Any recommendations on a Bi Pod? Im looking at the Harris line but not sure which model. And is there an adapter I have to get to mount it to the Midwestern rails? Where would be the cheapest place to buy it?
Thanks in advance!

I bought a UTG Tactical of Amazon for 40-50 bucks and I love it.

Qiuck disco on a pic rail with no adapter. Very sturdy! Pivots!

Comes with a sling mount adapter as well.

I cannot knock it, good value!

I also have the UTG tactical bipod. It is a chinese copy of a Harris, but I have to agree with copemech, I can't knock it at all. It is of surprising fit and finish for a $30 bipod. I have shot a couple hundred rounds with it in the dirt, snow and rain with no issues. It mounts directly to mil-std rails.

AFAIK, all of the Harris bipods mount to a swivel stud. This will mean that you would need an adapter to mount to rails. Keep in mind that set-up will set the bipod farther off the rail (think folded profile).

I love the Nikon scope on mine. It is a prostaff 3-9x40 BDC. I will probably upgrade to the M-308 at some point, the reviews on here are great. I wanted something cheap to figure out what magnification I wanted, and for under $150, the scope I chose is as good as some that cost twice that much that I've used. Seriously, if you can't spend over 300 on a scope, go with the Nikon. Best cheap glass you can get. Over the 300 point there are a lot of companies making good scopes.

I am a huge fan of 1 point slings. I have a set-up I love on my 10, let me know if you want some more detailed photos. One of the biggest complaints about the 1 point is whacking yourself in the knees - I can show you how I carry it while walking - totally hands free and it doesn't even touch my legs, I can even run with it hands free and it doesn't move. And it is always ready to go into shooting position without having to un-shoulder it. For me it is the only way to go...

Thanks for all the great info, Im new at this and like I said before the options and mind boggling. I will check out the UTG.

I got the Atlas bipod and really like it, but it is expensive. I replaced the forearm with a Magpul but am thinking about getting the American made UTG mid length quad rail that doesn't require removing the delta ring or a new gas block. My scope is a Trijicon ACOG 4x32 but I think I'm going to supplement it with a Vortex Viper 4x16. I like mine the way it is now but if you don't want to add picatinny rails to the Magpul to mount stuff I think the UTG is the way to go. Just my .02

I love my UTG Pro made in the USA drop in rail. Easy install. I also got a UTG bipod , light, sturdy and cheap! :D

I like your setup! I have a lot of problems and projects, first being I am not made out of money! You can spend your retirement on this ****, I just want something that will get a hog! This is POU!

I like that scope! I recently got one similar, the P-223 version with the clicky turrets to put on my mini14, and they were running the spring special with free P series mounts! Less than $200 delivered!

Don't let that 223 stuff fool you, the BDC reticle is set for 223, but there are online correction scales for any caliber and range if you need or want it. The thing could easily go on the 308 and work like a champ if 3x9 is all you want or need. I love it!

The M-308 is cool, but at over twice the price for 4x16 I could not afford it for the big 10. I have a Primary Arms 4x14x44 ffp mil dot. It is good! And about $300 with their super mount!

When I first got the 10, I needed something, anything, just to shoot it in. Academy ran the $49 Simmons 3x9x40 for $29 before Chrimbo, and I jumped on it. I tried to break it! It did not! Good to go, I put it on my 10/22 and it just works! But with whatever you get, you gotta get the really high 1.5 mounts or better for the AR platform as standard high rings are just too low!
