Hello Everyone,
I just pick up a M&P 15-22. I want to add a few things to the gun for show and just to please myself. So here are the things that I want.

Nice looking Scope, not to expensive. or to Big.
Maybe something with a laser on it.

I would also like to add a Flash Hider or something to the barrel. But cant deside if I should get it threaded or just get one of those that you put on your self. I read a few post that say they are ok.

I also would like to get one of those forward hand grips with the tri-pod attached.

Can anyone please let me know where I should start.

Thanks.

welcome to the club :D

really tho the first thing you need to decide is what you want the 15-22 to do most of the time ie

Are you going to a inside or outside range? and what is the max distance you plan on shooting and at what kind of targets ?

Are you hunting varmints with her? plinking ? or trying for accuracy and at what ranges? because these girls are pretty accurate :D

The answer to those questions will determine the kind and Power of scope you want.

the good news is there are a lot of people here that do pretty much all the above lol I personally go distance 100-200 yards at a outdoor range for accuracy with a 3 x 12 x 50 E ncstar scope.

Welcome DinkyDink...
GMCman..
what do you use to see your target after the shot on your 200yard targets? 22 holes can be small at that distance.
i use a 6-24x44 on our 10/22 and our 15/22 and can not see the holes!!!
thought i had completely missed the paper with 20 rounds. got PO'd when down range to find 19 in a 5 inch pattern....
peewee herman popped in my head saying "i meant to do that"
the 22 holes are way to small for these eyes to see at 200 yards.
just thought i'd ask if your eyes have super powers??:D

nope i cheat first I use shoot-n-see targets then I use a meade telescope I bought for my son years ago ( he only used it twice ). it really shows up ok up to 3oo yards but I do want to find a better and much easier one to use you have to fiddle around alot with it but it works and I loved the price ( free ) :D

here it is http://www.amazon.com/Meade-60AZT-Refracting-Telescope-Software/dp/B000KJ9E3U

if ya aint cheating ya aint trying ;)

btw thats good shooting tork'd what kind of ammo do you use?

I would recommend getting your barrel threaded. This will open up many more options for muzzle devices. If you don't get it threaded, you will will be limited to the few options that bolt on.

I would also recommend against the bipod. I've been shooting for a long time and never used a bipod. I consider myself a very good shot. I started using a bipod when I got my 15-22 because I thought it would be cool to have, however I soon found out that I was shooting poorly when I used the bipod and was getting frustrated. I'm WAY more accurate using a bag to shoot supported. I found out that using a bipod was torquing the barrel as I was adjusting my point of aim because the bipod feet were pretty much staying stationary on the bench. This was messing with my point of impact. This doesn't happen when resting the handguard on your hand on top of a bag. The 15-22 isn't quite as rigid as a centerfire AR and this effect becomes a little more apparent.

Hey Guys,
Thanks so much for all your replies.
I mostly will be shooting at an indoor range, that is about 25 yards. I will be sometime in the future going to an outdoor range, so just in case I would like to have all the correct settings in place. I will keep all you guys posted on my status.

Thanks a lot my new M&P friends.

thats why I purchased a swivel bipod for both of my M & P's and I havent had a problem with accuracy.

Hey Guys,

Ok, being that I live in Dirty Jersey, there are a few things that I cannot have on my M&P15-22. So here is the list of the things I want to order this week.

1. Muzzle Brake/Compensator = For a non threaded barrel.

2. A cool looking tactical forward Grip. Also would like to change the other grip also to match.

3. A nice combo scope/laser. = Remember most of my shooting is done at an indoor range. 25 yards. I will be going to an outdoor range once in a wile so would like to have one.

4. Tripod

I have been searching the internet and there are just to many to choose from. And most of the sites don't tell you if these items will fit the M&P15-22..

I believe that is it for now. Any information on these items will be greatly useful...

Most of the time I use shoot-N-see targets at the range.

Hello Again,

Well I just wanted to give out a ((BIG THANK YOU!!!)) to everyone for there replies and help with my new M&P. I ordered all the extra's and everything is on the rifle. (IT LOOKS SICK) for a 22. So impressed with the look and feel!!

I took it our for the first time last night to an indoor range and put a full box of CCI 40 Grain Tactical ammo, 375 rounds, an not one miss fire or jam. This gun is great and shoots real nice. I will be posting the pics soon so you guys can see what your help and replies to my post did.

Thanks again to everyone for your help.
Happy Shooting and be safe.

Dink!!!

I would order a catalog from Brownell's, they also have a catalog just on AR-15 parts and widgets to trick out your M&P 22. I would get the Grip Pod with the steel inserts on the bipod. Then...I would order a neck sling from Cylinder & Slide, for about $7.00, which will enable you to hold your rifle much more stable in a combat offhand stance. I swear by them. The Navy Seals use a bungee cord system, similar to Cylinder & Slide's.

P.S. The neck sling is excellent for a pistol, too.
