I've had my 15-22 for a few days now and thought I'd share my initial shooting experiences.
First day- Completely underwhelming to say the least.
After a thorough inspection and cleaning I headed to my local indoor range. I was using S&W 10 & 25 round mags and CCI AR Tactical and Mini Mags as well as Federal AM22 bulk amo.
The good news- This is a straight shooter. Seems very close to my bench rest 10/22 (!). A very pleasant surprise.
The bad news- Too many FTE's. Ugh.
Fortunately I already had the VQ extractor on hand which I immediately installed that night. In addition I tweaked the ejector just a little.
Day two (today)- I love this little gun. Ran all my mags using the Federal and the CCI ammo. About 200 rounds without a hiccup
The CCI AR Tactical was slightly more accurate than the MM's but only slightly. The Federal shot well and might be a good bulk choice. I've got 1K rounds of Aguila Super Extra HV on the way to evaluate in case CCI ammo gets scarce.
My Optics- I decided to try the TruGlo TruBrite red dot sight. It's perfectly acceptable for outdoor use but the reticle is nearly unusable in an indoor setting. I use Vortex glass on my other competition guns so I'm thinking an upgrade to at least the TRS-25 in in the offing.
Bottom line- with FTE's no longer an issue this is without a doubt an accurate and fun shooting little gun.
