new M&P 15-22 owner with questions

does anyone actually "know" why it's taking so long? I mean 8 weeks is a bit on the long side. Is it demand? are they changing something? I'm dying to get this gun out on the range with my daughter!!!!

It is demand. #1 US made rifle last year, and demand is picking up as we go shooting, and people say "dang that looks I fun", etc.
I have noticed that prices have gone up ~$20.00 each on Gunbroker in the last month.

I just mounted one yesterday.

A Bushnell with Weaver rail mounts.

All I needed was the allen wrench they included, and I have a tip for my field
screwdriver as well.

I also got a one inch riser rail that had nice chunky thumbscrews, so I mounted
the red dot on the rail, then the rail to the flat top. Easy stuff.

Just make sure your elevation knob is on the side, and the windage on top,
at right angles to the mount, and fire it up!

UPDATE: At indoor range, after zeroing in the RGB dot scope I mentioned, all of my shots were in the "X" oval. 75 ft, bench rest. I really like this scope. Cheap, easy to install, accurate enough for me. And I really like the ability to dial up 3 different intensities with 3 differen color dots. Used Blue to center on Red Bull's eyes.
