Hi all, I just picked up a 40c today. I gotta say, this thing feels great in my hand. Now to get to the range!

This is the second S&W firearm I've purchased in two weeks. The first one is an M&P 15-22. :D

Mine is flawless after 4000 rnds I now considered it broken it. Have fun with it, and stay safe.

Here she is. I've colorfilled the magazines. Still debating what color to do the slide.

I picked up one too, about a week ago, and can't find time to get to the range. Soon I hope.

I assume you like the 15-22 also, huh, I love mine.

You've got good taste

What was your process of colorfiling those mags? Nice job.

It is my favorite pistol, I have 5 pistols, if I could only have one it would be the M&P40c, it's with me 99.5% of the time. It's an extension of my body, something magical about this particular firearm that I can't really explain. You chose wisely my friend.

Thanks. The colorfill was with white crayon and a torch-lighter. Just heat the lettering a bit, then rub the crayon over the lines. It will get a bit chunky, then when you have sufficient coverage, melt the wax on the mag so it flows and then let it dry and cool down. Rub lightly with a paper towel and voila!:D

The video below shows the use of nail polish and acetone-free remover. If the crayon doesn't hold up, that is what I will do next.

Before you bulk up on 155gr and 165gr ammo, find some 180gr first. I find 180gr to be the least guilty of the snappy feeling that .40SW is most often guilty. And get an X Grip and a full size mag and it's almost like having a whole new gun again.

I only use 180gr. I have 180gr hollowpoints for HD and practice with 180gr FMJ.

Here's the "evolution" of my 40c. Polished barrel, slide release, takedown lever, guide rod cap, ejector.

She shoots wonderfully. I had to polish out some tooling marks on the trigger guide, but now she's smooth. Date of factory test fire was 9-6-12. I'm awaiting delivery of an aluminum AEK trigger from Apex. I can't stand the squishy feeling of the stock trigger.
