New M&P 40c question

Has anyone purchased the Storm Lake 9mm conversion barrel? Is it really drop in change mag to 9mm and good to go? I'm seriously thinking of it if it is.

You can just buy a factory S&W barrel for like 80 bucks and use that. You dont need the conversion barrel

From what I've read you need the conversion. Something to do with lockup and fit. But I'm new in this arena.

This and some 9mm mags. It really is that simple. Lots of folks swear by it. Me too. Got my factory barrel from MidwayUSA. Over 500 flawless rounds.

Get the S&W Factory barrel & mags. I haven't done it yet, but its less expensive, and word is it works much better.

have a M&P 40c....ok, so the M&P 9mm will work....since I have the 40c, do I get the M&P 9mm compact barrel or what? I don't know if the M&P 9mm barrel comes in 2 sizes...can you help?

I'm getting a new M&P 40c, and am curious if the S&W barrels from Midway will work? I thought I saw somewhere that there's a change in the newer guns.

What kind of change? And what is considered "newer"? Been thinking about doing the conversion too.

I purchased a new 40c earlier this year and immediately thereafter purchased a S&W 9mm barrel, along with 9mm mags, full size and compact.

Works perfectly and a snap to change out.

I'll keep looking to see what I can find out, but I don't think the Barrels are the same now. It seemed like there's a change in the newer design, which was why I'm asking as we'll. I was planning on getting a 9mm barrel for mine.
