Both magazines that came with my .45 are unable to hold 10 hand-fed rounds. They are sooooo hard to load that I can only get 8 rounds in one and 9 rounds in the other (at the range). If I take the time to struggle with them on a hard surface I can sometimes get the full complement of 10.

Will this go away with time? And no, I'm not a weakling, if that's what you're thinking! :)

The mags come apart easy, you might check and make sure the mag spring is set into the follower correct. The next thing to do is load them to the full limit and leave them loaded, the springs will settle some and they should become easier to load.

When new it's almost impossible to get the full 10 unless you get a loader. I use a Uplula for all mine including the 14 rounders. Best spent $29 this year!

ummm, Not to be rude, but...
hit the gym?
Never met a magazine that I couldn't load to full with my fingers. I'm not a beast.

My M&P45 magazines are fairly easy to load, but if yours are stiff and there is no other problem with them, just load them all up with 10 rounds and let them sit for a while. In just a couple weeks, they should be a bit different.

If you think the M&P45 mag is a bear to load to capacity, you should try the standard Glock 27 mags when new!

I agree with torrejon224. Get a uplula loader they are great and saves your hands and fingrnails. Don't pay attention to others it has nothing to do with muscle strength.

Another plug for the uplulu loader. One of the best shooting accessories I've ever bought.

Since I couldn't find Squidsix at the gym to help me bulk up (they said he was elsewhere working on his people-skills), I'm going with the consensus and opting for an uplula loader.

Thanks for the input, guys.

I'm the new guy here and my feeling is that when I can't load my mags by hand (thumb I guess), then it may be time for me to switch to a revolver. I'm in my 60's and not in the best of health, but I manage to still pack all the rounds into my 8, 10 & 14 round 45 mags. Not easy at first, but it gives me incentive to stay somewhat active. In time, they all get easier. I love my 45c and do not want to have to give it up, so I keep my thumb in good shape...lol
