I'm primarily a Sig guy, but I'd heard good things about M&Ps so I decided I should give one a try. I found a M&P 9 Pro at a good price at a gun show on Saturday and grabbed it. I was feeling pretty good about my purchase until I went over to the vendor selling magazines to pick up a few extras. He had a few - for $99 each. I asked why They were so expensive and the response was that S&W wasn't making anything but 10 rd mags, so no one could get these anymore. Can this be true? What gives?

If you're patient, you'll find them. I suggest that you got to 44mag.com find the mag you want a get on their "notify me" list. When they get them in they will email you. Do the same thing a MidwayUSA.com. They seem to be the ones that are getting magazines for the M&P in lately. Also, they're always available from the "gougers" on eBay, for around $100ea.

Give some thought to this and see if it passes the sniff test.

There are very few states that limit mag capacity. Why would S&W only make mags for those few states and force the rest of us to live with it?

The vendor selling mags was playing on your fears.

Thanks for the quick response. I'd already gotten on Midway's notify list and taking your advice, I just added 44Mag.

I'm going to shout this one out:

NEVER LISTEN TO THE BS FROM GUN SHOW PEOPLE!!!

Good advise. That's why I didn't drop 100 bucks for a mag at the gun show. However, searching the Internet and finding that these mags are out of stock with no back order available on every site I've checked did worry me enough to ask the question on the forum.

That's almost all mags. Try finding an extra mag for a Sig Mosquito or a Ruger SR9c. Mags are slurped up by buyers as soon as they are listed since everyone is/was terrified of the pending legislation. I don't want to get political and get nuked so I have to leave it at that. I'm just saying it's been buying madness out there.

Right now you either wait or pay alot. They just arent out there, get on the lists and be patient.....or buck up.

44mags prices have gone through the roof lately, basically on par with the gougers on GB.

Midway seems to be the best bet as far as pricing goes. You would think with their buying power they should be near the top on receiving these
