New M&P 9

I've never cleaned a firearm before so I'll have to check out Youtube. I've heard that Frog lube is good and highly recommended on here. As far as cost goes, I just want to pay for only what I need if that makes sense.

There are literally hundreds of cleaning products/kits. You can't go wrong with a standard $15 Hoppes cleaning kit. It is simple and self contained.

I like Frog Lube myself, but you'll spend a few more dollars to get that.

Things you must have:
Some kind of cleaner/solvent.
A cleaning rod.
A bore brush.
A bore mop or patches.
If you use patches you may want a Jag
At least one rag.
Some kind of oil/grease once you're done cleaning.

I have used WD-40 for years with no adverse affects. It is a horrible lubricant for guns though. OK to clean with, but not for lubrication.

Bought my First M&P9 F/S back in 2008...still have it. Best shooter I own, all stock. Guns have come and gone, the M&P is still here :)
