I just bought and fired 100 round though my new BG380 and I was really surprise as how accurate I could shoot it once I got used to the trigger. This gun was just as accurate at 10 yards as my XDM 9mm with a 4 pound trigger and precision night sights.

I had one light strike using 95 gram PMC FMJ ammo and no light strikes using Precision One Ammo 90 grain JHP ammo. As long as I don't get light strikes with the Precision One Ammo, I'm happy.

Is it normal to see the bullet in front of the extractor while the gun is in the battery condition? The casings show no deformities or damage.

Here's a photo of what I'm referring to:

Yes. I just checked mine (purchased Feb. 2015) and that's the loaded chamber indicator.

I understand that looking from the top into the loaded chamber hole indicator, but it's still normal to see the bullet from the right side of the slide?

There is no mention of this view in the manual. I'm just want to make sure this is the normal battery condition.

Thanks for the quick replies.

I have the original - before they changed it to M&P - and it looks the same. Never really noticed that before. The loaded chamber indicator is the semi-circle cut on the top of the chamber.

Normal. I just checked my Glock 19, made in 2002 and I can see a little brass there too

The M&P 380's are wonderful pocket guns. It is my EDC(that's "every day carry" for you non tactical neophytes-had to finally ask what it meant myself :D). Your gun is normal and that is exactly how it is supposed to look like in battery. These little locked breach .380's have really sounded the death knell for the blow back .380's like the PPK. Wonderful little guns.

Incidentally, this is not a "bullet" showing - it is a part of a cartridge case. A bullet is already seated in the chamber and you can not see it outside. As long as the extractor is in its groove, everything should be OK.
Your loaded chamber indicator is a hole at the top rear of the slide.

Cartridge case-not bullet

Thank you for pointing out it was a cartridge case not a bullet that was visible. If it was a bullet at the entrance to the chamber the pistol would not fire of course as someone had loaded the magazine backwards.

I know some internet reports have given this gun a somewhat checkered history but mine has been 100% w/all brands of FMJ and HP, 800 rounds to date. I trust my life to it, and this after 40 + years of carrying a J frame off-duty & into retirement.

I don't have a Bodyguard but I do have a Shield and a FS 9 and they both show the case just like your Bodyguard. I never had noticed that before.

The part of the case showing is at the web of it which is solid except for primer flash hole thru it. The web is strongest and thickest part of a cartridge case so I think you're okay.

Yep, it is good

Funny, I never noticed the right side of the slide showing the casing before. Mine is EDC. Always look at the top hole to check for round in the chamber. Love this little gun. Had a Shield 9mm before, but would not carry it all the time. I do the 380 in pocket.
