Greetings All-

Having enjoyed my M&P Pro 9mm, I was able to get a good deal on a new M&P Shield 9mm at the gun show this past Saturday. Got to shoot it Sunday and was impressed by the darn thing.

I plan to use it as my Carry gun and BUG, so I'd like to get some good Night Sights and a holster for it. I'm sure they've been discussed in a lot of threads, but was hoping that some of you could make some even better suggestions for the holster and sights. Any help appreciated.

Yes there are a lot of threads on this and the suggestions for holsters and sights are very good.

I carry AIWB so I ordered a Liion Defense XKLIP and also a PHLster Skeleton.

For sights I went with a 10-8 rear and an Ameriglo ProGlo orange front sight.

It is currently at my LGS having the sights installed as well as the Apex DCAEK.

I can't wait to get it back.

I use a Cooks holster IWB kydex holster. I also put on Ameriglo night sights and an Apex carry kit.

Shield sights

I replaced the stock with Trijicon HD's. I used the ones for the standard M&P (SA37 I think), and had no problems. The rear sight is just ever so slightly wider but no problem for me.
For the holster I use the Crossbreed IWB, MiniTuck, not real attractive but great for functionality.
Overall very happy with no issues!

Just yesterday I put some truglo tfo sights on......very happy with them so far. Seem to work well in all conditions.

For holsters I use a Hidden Hybrid Holster....very well made with a comfortable, no slip backing and has the option of wearing it iwb or owb. Also have a Pro Carry HD from The Holster Store. Its a single clip all leather iwb holster that is surprisingly well made and form fitted to the shield for an affordable price.

I ordered a set of the I.C.E. "CLAW" sights. Haven't put them on yet, but I am excited to get 'em on soon. For holsters, I have FOXX and it's working fine. Affordable, and quick. The belt clips are a little big for a 1.5" belt, but they are rugged (and maybe a little sharp around the edges).

I have had TruGlo sights for about a year now and they work well. My holsters are a PJ Holsters Kydex tuck able and a Shepard Leather horsehide mini hybrid. Both were 55$ and a good value for such nice products.

I have both a Winthrop and a Foxx holster for mine. The Winthrop is comfortable but I don't like the way it draws. I just got the fox so I'm not sure about it yet. I plan on trying out straight eight nightsites.

I just use the factory sights, but I use an Old Faithful IWB holster for all day, every day use and a Bianchi 100 made for a G26 as a quick trip holster.

Very comfortable holster, quality leather and kydex, replaceable/adjustable shells and a 50 year warranty. I'd buy their DIY kit like I did since it reduces the cost and is super easy to assemble.

The Shield fits perfectly in this holster made for a G26. I like having this option for when I'm just driving down the street to a gas station or what not. It's comfortable as well and could easily be someone's main holster.

I had the trijicon HD sights installed, and couldn't be happier. As far as a holster goes, I bought a safariland "concealment" holster, but it's really bulky, it works better as an open carry holster.

I have TruGlo sights on mine with a FoxX Trapp IWB holster. I absolutely dig this set up...near perfect for me. Good luck...lots of good options out there.

I am intersted in the TruGlo TFO's.... where is the cheapest place to get them?

On my Shield I use TruGlo TFO's and it rides in a Desantis Pro Stealth IWB holster. I like the Pro Stealth because of it's build quality and comfort, along with the ability to carry the Shield's extra mag right there with it. Any of the TFO sights built after June of '13 will fit the Shield, the M&P22, as well as all FS M&P's ....

Picked me up a set of TruGlo TFOs on Ebay for just under $75. Best holster is the Fusionpac from tactipac.com it's a little pricey but it's the most tuckable holster on the market.

Hey guys and gals, long time lurker... Just wanted to share my setup with OP. I carry my shield 40 in a White Hat holster ($75 +/-?) 90% and in a PJ Holster 10% ($50 +/-) of the time. Both great setups and are extremely comfortable on my waist. The sights I have are Ameriglo i-dot (about $85) with a white front. They are great in a dark range or in the day time. I just wanted to suggest the carry aluminum trigger from Apex as well ($165 +/-). it took some time to get it installed but it is a huge difference from a pistol that i already loved. It has a crisp shot now and significantly improved my spread on a target. Anyways, take a look. I hope it helps. (and I hope the post works!!)

quick update on the holster, I like the Foxx with j-hooks draw a lot better than the Winthrop. They are both really comfortable in the 4-5 o-clock positions. I don't like the Foxx when it is in the 3 o-clock position though.

Night site why's I'm still experimenting. I have meprolights on my Kimber and Truglo TFO's on one of my glocks. As I said I want to try the straight eight sights and see how I like them.

i just picked up my shield about a month ago and i put ameriglo pro idot #245's on it. they work for my crappy eyes and i find them easy to pick up night or day i have been carrying it in a comp-tac infidel ultra IWB holster. i carry it at 4:30 and its pretty comfortable so far, never a big fan of IWB's but it works for me.
I just ordered a dm bullard bodyguard OWB holster for it, i carried my mustang plus II in one for a lot of years so i am hoping i like it as much.
still loving the gun 600+ rounds out of it with all kinds of different ammo. and no failures at all.

I'm running the exact same setup.

I also have some Foxx grip enhances that I will be adding in the near future, just to make sure I don't have any grip issues in the steamy South Carolina Low Country summers.

LaTour custom holsters. He is on Facebook. Great fit and hand made. Excellent craftsmanship. I have no night sights as of yet.

The Shield is small enough to be easily concealed with an OWB holster. I am a big fan of quality leather when it comes to holsters. This one is by Wright Leather Works and I also have their belt, which is 1/4" x 1/12" solid bull-hide. This rig is so comfortable, I forget I am wearing it.

Hi Jaysq, I have one of these beauty's on order. I've never used a laser before and thought it might be an interesting addition. I ordered and just received the Crimston Trace Laserguard, which fits the Shield like a glove (one would never know it's not an original part of the pistol) and of course, I needed a new Holster. I ordered the Wright Leather Works holster, pictured, above, as they make these holsters for the Shield with Crimson Trace on-board. It'll take 12-14 weeks, so I'm counting the days or I should say weeks until this beauty comes in. I'll report back once I receive it and can post pictures.

In the mean time, I also ordered an OWB kydex holster from Eric at "Orange Diamond Concealment" (they too can make a holster for the Shield with a CT). I ordered it Tuesday and it shipped out Wednesday, I should be holding in my hands, tomorrow. You can't be that with a stick and for a great price, too.

Check these guys out, too:
