I do actually plan to pick up a S&W Model 65 .357 Revolver. These are the pistols that the Texas Department of Criminal Justice uses and what we have to qualify on every year (using 38 special ammo). On top of that we qualify on a Colt AR-15 (using 5.56 mm ammot) and a Remington 780P Shotgun (using 00 buckshot). I do plan on eventually picking up the revolver in the near future so that I can practice and qualify the first try every year. The academy lets us go to the range and practice with the rifles (as long as we bring our own ammo) so I'll probably hold off on getting an AR-15 any time soon. (expensive)
