Hi
I just joined and need some assistance.
I aquired a set of Smith & Wesson handcuffs but don't need them.
They have a serial number on them 213872 and are in a black leather Bucheimer case.
I was curious as to what they might be worth.
I appreciate any help.

P.S. I can also be reached at [email protected]

Until someone jumps in - jump over to Smith & Wesson Knives & Collectables and search using the term "handcuff" - you will get a number of useful hits. When you are ready to sell - jump over to Classifieds > Accessories/Misc - For Sale or Trade . Now, if you jump over to The Handcuff Gallery you might be able to identify your handcuffs...

Welcome! That number is an tracking/assembly number, not a serial number, as S&W handcuffs are not serial numbered. S&W handcuffs come in various models and finishes. Some are very scarce and command high priced from collectors. You need to identify what your model designation is for your handcuffs. Post some good pictures here and the experts will tell you what you have. Photos of ALL stampings and markings are very important in the identification . Good luck, Ed

Posting a picture would help. Older Model 90 handcuffs (if in excellent condition) are more valuable than the current Model 100 handcuffs. Model 90 cuffs were made in the 1950, 60, & 70s. There are also other models that are more valuable such as the Model 925 or 926 aluminum cuffs, or the Model 94 cuffs that use a much different key and were originally marketed as "high security" cuffs.

You can check E-Bay for recent sales prices.

Hope this helps.

Steve

Welcome from Texas NAB. Great forum for all things S&W, have fun, learn lots, share what you know.

What VPNAVY said.

Brand S&W handcuffs sell for around $30.00 to $40.00 and older models do not normally have a premium.

pawncop, Think again. Some older models have serious premiums. At the last S&WCA annual meeting in Boise, last June, I sold several pairs of older S&W handcuffs for prices well into 3 figures, one pair which was only the third pair ever found by handcuffs collectors. Small differences is stampings can greatly effect the values, also. Ed.
