What gun are you on the lookout for?

Nice pickup Mike on the Ithaca 37! I haven't seen one of those at any LGS or guns shows in a few years now. Was it a Deer Slayer model? Mind sharing what you got it for and the condition? Some of the prices on GB are all over the place...

Years ago when I was in school, a LGS had a new Colt Peacekeeper .357. I've always looked for one of them but still haven't seen any in person.
Didn't know it till I got home from vacation........3 in Magnum gun......30 in full choke vent rib barrel.....S/N dates it to 1993..........I payed $325 for it.....Its in very good condition......It sometimes pays to stop at gun shops in small towns.

You got a steal with that one, especially when you compare to prices on GB. Yes it sure does pay to stop in at small shops...you NEVER know what you might find that you just CAN'T walk away from...

I have a list.. a list of guns that would complete "sets" that I have.
I'm about to complete my set of 25s with a -5 nickel 8" that should be with me on September 9.

I guess my one grail gun would be a blued pre-29 6.5" collector condish.
More so than a registered Magnum, even.

Ben...here ya go.... ;)

More like this Malkovich. The photos of the model 10 were borrowed from Slufstuff and the Model 36 from Guns International.

So, Browsing this post, I see some members have Guns listed that they are looking for. If I have said Rifle or handgun that I am willing to sell, what is the rule/protocol to follow? as far as contact, post ,ect? sorry to post twice.. my brain is very slow today...
Thanks all.
I don't think anyone would mind a direct message in their invox

3.5" Model 27
Ed Brown .38 Super
Ithaca 37 DSPS
Model 28

And the ever elusive S&W Model 58 San Antonio Police Department stamped revolver.

S&W 27/pre 27 with 3&1/2" barrel, excellent condition, at disgustingly low price. Colt SAA factory engraved with CC or engraved hammer, short barrel, and very low price. Late 1st Gen SAA frontier six shooter in excellent shooting condition, again low/reasonable price…that's it for now.

Not actively looking at the moment but I would like to find a Model 43 or 63 without spending an arm and a leg. I think it would make a nice companion for my Model 36 ND.

We all have our holy grails. And we have frivolous desires. And there are things we'd just like to try. What are some of yours?

My holy Grail is a deep blue pre-lock model 27 in 6" or 4".

I'd also like a 745, a stub-nose 28 or 29, an M1 Garand, a Glock47, a CZ75, a high end stainless 1911, a 1911 in 45ACP, a PCC of some type, a walther PPK (a Bond gun).

The reason I don't have all of these is that I'm a bargain hunter. It's hard for me to justify the cost to buy my holy grail. The enjoyment I get out of guns is significant..... But not enough to justify the cost of a say, a model 27 in fine condition. Finding a bargain is part of the fun, I guess.

What's on your wish list?

My wish gun is a Cheetah 85FS (or 84).

I do have a number of your dream guns (or close to them), they are:

- 5" Model 27 (no dash) Cobalt Blue finish. 95+ Condition. Widely believed to be the best overall revolver.
- CZ 75 (full size and Compact)
- Government Model.45 ACP

I'd LOVE to have an M-1 Garand or at least a few hours with one.

I'm 77 now, and I have wanted a Smith & Wesson Model 42 in Nickel since I was 15. Frankly, I've come to prefer the Model 40; the Airweight Model 42 is a little too snappy. But, I'd still love to have an M42.

If you have faith, they just reveal themselves at the right time.😀
I was looking for a 581/681 for about a decade when,at a gunshow, I asked a gent who I was buying a 696 from if he knew anyone selling either model.
He said " yeah,my son has a 581,ANIB.
I LITERALLY bought it sight unseen and I wasn't disappointed.
Now, if I can just find the 681 ...😁
