Hey everyone, new member and first post.
Like the title says I'm new to firearms. Finally bought my first last month (an SD40VE, really love it but still learning how to "handle" if you will). I loved it so much I ended up buying an M&P 15 Sport yesterday. I initially bought the SD for home defense but I love shooting it too much to leave it locked up in a night stand drawer all the time. My friends convinced me to get an AR since they all seem to have one, popular thing to have in the military and in Texas for that matter. Since I recently moved here from CA I figure it would be much easier for me to get one here (and cheaper) so I did.
I've been reading posts on these forums for what seems like months now determining what to buy. Price paid a relatively high priority on what I was looking for and since I've never owned firearms I figured a name that I have heard of many times must be very reputable. After surfing posts daily I decided on the SD and the Sport. I regret none of my choices.
I'm excited to learn more about what it means to own firearms and to pick the brains of all the great people on these forums.
