Just go back from Red River, have Texas CHL. Tried to read the rules on carry but is somewhat confusing. I understand NO carry in BARs but went to one restaurant that had a 8" x 10" posting as to Firearms, this place does serve wine and beer. Went to another restaurant that serves wine and beer and No visible sign. Can someone tell me what the actual law says in layman terms.

Thanks, I have looked at that site. Now what do you think this says "a restaurant licensed to sell only beer and wine that derives no less than sixty percent of its annual gross receipts from the sale of food for consumption on the premises, unless the restaurant has a sign posted, in a conspicuous location at each public entrance, prohibiting the carrying of firearms, or the person is verbally instructed by the owner or manager that the carrying of a firearm is not permitted in the restaurant;"
So you have no sign( what size is correct) are you to ask the manager " do you get 60% of your income from food?

Sixty percent in New Mexico, thats 51% in Texas. I don't travel to New Mexico, but I have heard that the permit in New Mexico only allows you to carry one firearm. That would leave me out of going there, because I almost always carry two revolvers. But if I were going there, I would try and pull up the statutes of New Mexico and study them to make sure
of what the differences are. :)
