Hi,
I am new to this forum and have a couple of questions regarding the model 27-2 that I just purchased.

How can I tell the age of this revolver by the serial number? Mine starts out N 17****.

Is it okay to dry fire or will this hurt the hammer?

My gun has only been fired three times and looks like that. There is a post of a similar model for sale at $600.00 but that one is listed in less then excellent condition. Just wondering what mine might be worth. I purchased it for less than market price because of a family situation.

Thanks for the help in advance.
