New Model 10 ???

A friend just told me that he saw something on a hunting or outdoor cable channel about a nrw model 10 revolver. He thinks it was Monday night.

Has anyone heard anything about this? I would not believe it out of hand however the Mothership has given us a few surprises lately. I am learning to never say never with Smith.

I don't think S&W has stopped making the M10 in all the years it has been out.
I could be wrong. I thought I was once, but I was mistaken.

I looked today, for a whole other reason. The only Model 10 I saw was the 4" Model 10 Classic. So, whether there was any hiatus in terms of manufacture between the last Model 10 and bringing it out as a Classic, I can't say, but the 4" Classic is it today as far as I can tell.

Yep, Smith lists them on their website, or did just a few minutes ago.

FWIW, I bought a recently made Model 10 at a pawn shop a few months ago. It had a small amount of wear on the bluing on the barrel, but was practically unused otherwise. It shoots like a dream, and is tight as a drum. Paid $345 for it. I would rather have had an adjustable sight model, but couldn't pass it up for that price. I have an older model 10 that is getting a little sloppy. I didn't realize how sloppy it was until I got the newer one. I much prefer the heavier barrel in the newer 10 as well.

The 10-14 is it, I don't know what else they can do to a Model 10

As far as I know, they just moved it to the classics line. I handled one at my LGS the other day. Seemed like a good gun

I just looked at a new one in a local shop last weekend. Nice, but it's weird to see a classic revolver with the IL. And the price was north of $600. Seriously?

That's why I bought a used one. Although the use was only a little bit of bluing wear. I don't mind that, it's a shooter.
