So far very happy with fit and finish, trigger is great. I haven't shot it off the bench or with match ammo yet, so I can't comment on accuracy, but I certainly did better off hand with it using CCI standard than with my 617 4" in single action (shooting a variety of cheaper ammo)

Buy one, you'll like it.

I like mine a lot. I had a 41 from the early 80's and this is just as good. As a matter of fact...I like the newer model better.....I took advantage of the pre-drilled scope mount. If you are thinking about buying one...do it. And the sooner the better. Price keeps going up.

My 2 year old 41 exceeded expectations on all three points, I have fired friends' 15 and 20 year old models and found no major difference in operation.As stated above already drilled & tapped.

The older factory grips were a little smaller and fit the my hand better than the new ones; the laser engraving is rough and picks up lint whenever you wipe the pistol down with a rag - minor complaints in the big picture.

I just bought one a few months ago to replace my 40 year old High Standard Bullseye gun. The fit is fine on mine but I hate the lazer engraving because it seems to catch every loose thread of anything I wipe it down with.

I think the trigger is better/smoother on my old HS than on this Mod. 41 but then I'm sure that shooting a gun for 40 years makes one get use to it. Time will tell and as far as me getting use to the trigger on this 41.

The accuracy is great and off a rest This 41 shoots one hole 5 shot groups at 50 feet. I'm positive that this Mod.41 will get me to Master in Bullseye IF I get use to the trigger.

Overall I'm very happy with this 41. I bought it at Cabella's. The sticker price was $995. and with the $50 gift card I had and the Cabella points I saved up useing their credit card the final price to me was right around $400. cash out of my pocket. I'm sure that if I decide that this 41 isn't for me I can easily get my money back with no problem.

I bought myself a Model 41 as a retirement present for myself, last July (08).

I like the trigger the way it is out of the box and have not yet had a need to make use of the trigger adjustment feature.

I like the finish very much and particularly the way the grip has been fashioned for the hand.

I am quite amazed at the accuracy of the pistol. It will hit exactly what you aim at, so I rate the accuracy as very impressive. This goes for the seven inch barrel and the five.

Ordered in Canada, the price was $1239.00 in CDN Dollars before all the taxes. Came with two magazines, User Manual, tool kit, alternate front sight, etc.

While a bit pricey, the S&W quality standards are all there. I really like my new Model 41.

Bought my 41 new a few months ago and having feed and eject problems. I have used just about every ammo made both standard and high velocity with no improvement. Look closely at the fit of the end of the barrel to slide - mine is not square or looking from the rear of the pistol the gap between the two surfaces is twice as much on the right than on the left.

Smith tech says that should not effect the feed/ extraction, but the gun is going back to them to figure out the problem.

My point is, for an expensive target pistol this is a fit problem that should not exist.

When working, the gun shoots better than I can hold on target. Just look closely at all aspects of the pistol before purchase, something I failed do. As I said, nice pistol when working.
