Just a picture so just what I can see or think I can see (NOT an indictment!) but first photo, magazine on the far right, where the spring meets the underside of the follower...

...this looks like rust or corrosion? Must just be an odd reflection captured in the photo. But maybe get eyeballs up in there and make sure there's nothing ugly.

Not rust or corrosion. Maybe a small bit of oil/grease.

I see it, too.

Looks a little orange, but I can't tell what it is.

With Florida humidity, high carbon steel doesn't stand a chance.

If you take care of stuff the humidity does not bother it. If you don't then it does. Family has lived here over 200 years (long before stainless steel) with no problems.
