New model 66 with "69" stamped as model number?

Hello all, I just bought a new model 66 .357. Underneath the serial number CWD7*** it says 69 where the model number is. Shouldn't it say 66 since this is the k frame .357 and not the L frame .44 model 69?

Had to get mine out of the safe to be sure I didn't misread it, but it's clearly marked 66-8 under the S/N. FWIW, mine has a test fire date of 06/13/2014.

Ours are close Hopper my test fire is 6/16/2014.
