I am thinking about some new night sites, if Meprolight doesn't warranty the the rear sight after it was dropped. The radioactive isotope leaked out the left side of the rear dovetail.

Also I am thinking about a pyramid/triangular front sight for increased visibility and accuracy.

Maybe green front and orange rears, or orange rear and green front?

Any suggestions gurus?

Well, I did that on a Commander, (2 yellow, 1 green) and didn't really care for it. Every subsequent gun I've set up I used all green. It just seemed to me the yellow were not as easy to pick up. There's no valid scientific data here, just felt I always double looked to register the sights. Now, most of the time it's not an issue, as I'm pretty good at point shooting and have been doing it for close to 40 years. But I've convinced myself I don't like them.

You may think there the neatest thing since sliced bread.

I've got a set of Yellow/green on my concealed carry piece.
It does make longer shots easier during low light, but for CCW applications it really isn't any better.
As far as I'm concerned, for what they're used, just a front sight would be enough since all you're doing is indexing rather than going for true sight alignment at realistic distances.

I believe it was an XS Sight Systems rep I spoke with at the SHOT Show who told me that they use green exclusively because it's brighter than other colors. So, if you were thinking about using contrasting colors for the sake of distinguishing front from rear dots, I guess it would be best to go with a bright green front and some different color for the rear...

Thanks guys,

I was aware that fluorescent, neon green is the brightest RGB color
to the human eye, followed by red, orange and yellow.

I was considering green and orange still in some undecided variation.
These two colors tend to be contrasting more than green and yellow.

Yes they are similar top the rapid acquisition sights used On the Steyr M9 and the Caracal.

Looks like XS 24/7 is the only available mainstream solution without some odd gun smithing of the other manufacturer's sights.

All green, never saw the need for anything else. Trijicon had for me the best life. First ones I used were on a G 17 in 1986.
