New printer time

I needed a new one after moving here last October. I have been an HP convert for a long time. The 6500 series I bought was awful. I complained (nicely) and after a couple weeks, they sent me a new one, and a totally different model. I have been very happy.

Model 8710
Good printing - speed - ease of use

The most important thing to remember, they are made to be replaced, i.e. its simply not worth it to fix them....

Just bought an HP 8710 which scans copies and color prints at a high rate. Got it for $119 at Best Buy. At this price if it lasts a couple of years I'm good.

Good grief! At that price, it's almost as cheap to buy a new printer than to buy ink cartridges.

I still need color for printing the pictures of our various trips for the wife's album.
Good luck with your printer.

The HP "Instant Ink" subscription I mentioned earlier is especially thrifty if your printing photos, since that uses a high volume of ink.

I've got you all beat . I was needing a new one , my old
one was shot . I happened to be at BJ's . and seeing as I am retired I have the time to just wander around . On an end cap , they had a pallet of HP 4655 printers and they were marked down to $49.95 . Now it's an older model , but then I don't need anything fancy . It's wireless , scans , and has an auto feed . At that price , if it lasts a year I am doing good .

Some years ago I bought a new basic Lexmark printer (with color and B&W cartridges) on sale for less than the cost of the cartridges alone. It was a pretty decent printer and I used it for a long time until I went to a Windows 10 laptop. No W10 driver was available for the Lexmark, so it was useless to me and it went to my son. My son's laptop uses W8, and he is still using that same printer.
