New S&W Model 57 in 41mag

Big Bill,
When you purchase dies for the .41 Magnum may I suggest spending a few extra dollars for the Redding Titanium dies, best money for dies I ever spent.I shoot 95% cast bullets and their expander is the best expander I have ever used from a stock set of dies.I usually have to throw away the expander plug and buy a custom for cast lead.

I just received today my new LEE carbide dies from natchez with some remington 200gr jacketed hollow point bullets and some different color green bullet cases so i don't mix up my ammo between my 357mag(red) and my 44mag.(blue) I also got the LEE case trimmer too. I ordered 41 brass from two other places but nothing has showed up yet. Next month i'll pop on 1,000rds of new brass again too. I know the ammo/brass is the only thing thats bad about the 41mag. Bill

I like the.41 also , But I just bought a 629-2e with a 3 inch barrel and I love it !

For CC it fits in my fanny pack perfectly , but a 4 inch would not.

I shot both my .44`s last week one: 6" and the new 3"

They are so close in accuracy and recoil I can`t tell which is which .

I am very surprised by and pleased with my 3 incher and will start looking for more.

yep...i too love the 41mag.my concealed carry is a 657 three inch with mepro night sites...love it ! i also have a M57 in the display case and another 657 with the 7.5" barrel...they all shoot great...i have no problem here locating brass etc.to reload this round...surely saves a lot of money and you get what you want, when you want...

If you want to shoot the very pleasant .41 Special. You can cut cases to 1.16 and load 7.5 - 8. gr of unique for 950 -1025 FPS with a cast bullet.
someone always asks why not load down a magnum ,they do not know the .41 Special.(why have a .38 Special or a .44 Special) the logic does not follow with that line of reasoning.besides its a nice wildcat
I would like to have one in a 686

I found the 38 special and 44 special preform better than there magnum brothers with the exactly the same load using unique powder with a leadcast bullet. This is why i load both special loads and i think i may try to get some 41 special brass too in the near future. I just revieced my 215gr cast bullets and 400rds of new 41mag brass today. The brass i ordered is finally showing up. Bill

Many indoor ranges do not allow the use of 'magnum' ammo. If it's headstamped 'magnum' , ya can't use it. Trying to explain otherwise is futile.
