PSA sent me an email just now that has me considering one of the first generations, even though I don't need one at all. Just under two bills retail, plus tax, plus shipping, plus FFL puts me at around $250 all-in for a brand new one.

Hmmm . . .

Do it. :D

I have to be strong on the other hand bigger brothers (40 & 45) want to have "complete family", *sigh*, who am I kidding, I'm not that strong :D

I just ordered a Shield EZ .380 from Academy for $300 because they are also adding in a $50 Academy GC (on top of the $50 S&W rebate). With Tax, it is costing me $321. I also used Active Junky to claim an additional 6% back, so I bit. :)

They also have the Gen1 9mm with Safety listed at $290 - it also has the additional Academy $50 GC deal.

Wait. You can get a Shield G1 9mm for $290 and get $50 GC and $50 rebate? WOW.
Don't need another 9 but for that price, it may be good to just keep in the car.

Everybody's dumping their Shields and getting sig p365.

The M&P Shield 9 is a "been there done that pistol" .. Small enough to conceal, and still very shootable .. and boringly reliable.. A S&W Shield new at $200.00 is a no brainier...
Would I dump my Shield or 43 for a P365 ... Heck no ( PG version) Honestly Im not interested in a micro double stack 9 ... If they took the emphasis off of Micro .. and build a double stack Shield or 43 yep .. They would be just a bit larger , be more fo my liking

I sold a Shield (which I liked) to fund a G43 a few years back. The G43 started pulling reserve duty when I started carrying a P365. But with the current low prices on Shields coupled with a rebate I am once again a Shield owner. I'll be $239 into it (out the door cost) post rebate and it came with an extra mag.

I received my Sheild 9mm yesterday... Took 5 minutes to fill out for the rebate on my phone ... I purchased 2 extra 8 rd mags online ... One of the best deals I have seen .. 2 bills after rebate for a great quality dependable 9mm pistol

Few questions:
Does it matter where I buy the shield for the rebate?
Should I get 1 or 2.0?
With or without laser or night sights?

Not Really. The receipt showing the purchase date, purchase location, product purchased, and purchase price.

Yes, but if it's like the last one, make sure you read what you need to submit before you leave the store. (Download the coupon in advance, or at least read it.). The last rebate campaign had fairly specific receipt requirements. (And took monnnnnnnnnnths to deliver the checks!)

I took advantage of the last rebate. I found a Shield 9 1.0 on sale at Brownell's with free shipping for cheap. I saw this for the current rebate: Eligible SKU List Hope this helps.

I'd be all over this if I didn't already have one, which I like very much. Still tempted but I don't need two of them. I've handled the 365 and the new Springfield. I'm still sticking with my shield. More rounds is always nice but the Shield fits my hand better and it holds enough.

Academy had them on sale a couple of weeks back and you got the $50 rebate plus a $50 academy gift card. Seems like the final price was <$200 tax tag and title. I passed, but was because I had other things I had just bought...

Um, no..., not quite "everybody."

I am certainly keeping my Shield 9 gen1 and like nearly everyone else on this thread I would sure like to have a second one for $250 and $50 rebate.

Is the compact version included in the rebate deal?

Related: Is there a good reason for having two identical Shield 9's, or is getting a different model a better idea?
