New scope for my 15-22 - AIM Sports JTHR1

I was at the Richmond gun show today, and picked up a scope for my 15-22.

It's an AIM Sports 1.5-4X30 Tri-ill. CQB Scope w/Locking Turrets

• One piece aircraft grade aluminum body
• Nitrogen charged with water resistant seals
• Laser etched glass
• Green fused multi-coated lens
• Tri-illuminated reticles (Red, Green, Blue)
• 4 Inch eye relief

Looks great, nice tight feel. Crisp looking reticle that can be used without illumination (black) or set to green, red or blue. It was a lot easier to see through with a decent eye relief and didn't have the blurry dot of most low priced red dot sights. Variable zoom from 1.5 to 4x and a focus adjustment too. You can reset the turrets to zero after you have adjusted elevation and windage as well, a nice feature.

They can be found on the internet from $120 - $150 and it includes the mount. The mount also has small rails on it if you want to add lights or lasers. My mount looks a bit different that the in the top picture as mine has small rails not only on the top, but left and right side on the front ring, as seen below. Also includes the flip up covers, adjusting wrench, wrench to tighten the mount, lens cloth and 2 batteries, one as a spare.

I will give more of a review when I have some ammo and some range time to get it dialed in.

Very Nice, The locking turrets are nice if you are changing distances and want to go back to your zero easily.

That is a great looking scope. Pretty much exactly what I was looking for. I really like the style of the mount and profile of the scope. Looking forward to pics of how it looks mounted to the gun and how it performs!

That scope has been around for awhile, nothing new. I have had one in my collection for over a year. Fairly decent for the money but no serious tactical scope. They have been available from Sportsman's Guide for $116. Not as good overall as the Firefield (Sightmark) 1-6x24 ($134 w/o mount from SG). However the Firefield has a first focal plane reticle like some of the $1500 tactical scopes (Vortex Razor HD 1-4x24 for one @ $1299) which turns out to be annoying in a lower power scope. The AS mount is sort of a knockoff of the Burris PEPR non-QD mount. Actually works pretty good (I have 2 of those).

Used this a the range last night. Right out of the box the windage was dead on and only needed elevation adjustments. That was until I decided that the scope was mounted too far rearward and I took it off and moved it forward. Then for some reason the windage was 3 inches right at 25 yards but the elevation was good.
Anyway I dialed it in and even with my unsteady hands and bad eyesight I was able to consistently put 25 rounds at 25 yards into about 1 1/2 - 2" diameter area. If one was careful and took their time it would be easy to put 5 in a bulls-eye each time.

Nice scope. I've been eyeballing the same one, but the "m" version instead of the "h". (with the dual color mil dot reticle instead of the horseshoe.)
