Just picked up an SD9 this afternoon, so I thought I'd check in with you guys.

The first thing I did after the purchase was read the manual, field-stripped the weapon to inspect it and make sure there weren't going to be any surprises (there were none).

After reassembling, it was off to the range:

100 rounds of Federal FMJ and zero malfunctions later, I am thrilled by this purchase. I have absolutely no complaints about my new SD except that it didn't come with an "unlimited ammo" cheat code!

SD9

I've got an SD40 that shoots fantastic groups, I get (supported) two inch groups at 25 yards with Winchester 165 grain "white box" ammunition. My SD9 which I bought second doesn't get as good of groups, however I have only tried three different types of ammunition through it, so I may find out what it shoots best later. Have you done any accuracy testing/shooting with it yet?

I put 100 rounds through it, and I would say it's more accurate than I am at this point. I haven't done any rest shooting or real accuracy tests.

I didn't buy it as a dedicated target gun, so it's as accurate as I need it to be for it's role.

I love mine. Am on the way to the range in just a few minutes!

The SD's take a little getting used to. If you are a Glock person, or started shooting using revolvers, the long trigger pull may seem like less of an issue. If you were brought up on DA/SA autos (like M1911's or classic Sigs) you may be more used to that crisp "breaking glass" feel of a good SA trigger -- which is crisper, lighter, and more predictable than the typical striker trigger. But that can be overcome, and the virtues of the striker trigger -- same pull each time, and increased "safety" from a longer pull in a pressure situation -- may make it up for you. I really like my SD's...
