Hey everyone. Last week was my 21st so I took a trip to the gun store. The price point, reviews, and the way the sd9ve felt all contributed to my choice. I picked mine up for 355 with tax+ bc. Took it to the range and was very impressed. Love it and I think it is a good starter handgun. Mine will mainly be for home defense/possible cc and target time. Oh my buddy has a remora holster that I tried out and I loved it. I went ahead and ordered one and in April they have a buy one get one provided the 1st is over $35. The second one is same size but hey a deals a deal. Can't wait for the next trip to the range! Oh and whats ammo prices like for you guys? I found some 9mm jhp 50 rds for $45 online that will be here tomorrow via ups but I did pick up some insanely priced 9mm jhp at a local gun shop. Its USM4 50gr jhp. The 50 gr threw me but they claim to have 2000 fps and 450FPE with 5'' fragmentation...rather not say the price:mad: but could not wait for ammo in mail and have a $325 brick in my house. Oh the stuff in the mail is 124 gr jhp double tap bonded defense...much better deal but oh well...

I have found fmj 50 round boxes around 15-18 bucks. But I usually find them at academy early in the morning and they sell quickly.

congrats on the new gun. I want to get this same exact gun as my first handgun purchase as well but 9mm is not easy to find.

Hey wyccad915,

Does Academy sell on line or are you actually walking into the store? I don't see the typical "add to shopping cart" on this site.

Have the same gun only in 40 love it user friendly shoots great and is easy to care for Congrats and good luck on the ammo hunt

Store prices are $40 for 100 fmj. Only one has SD rounds and they were 27 per 20 of 147gn GDHP.

Online if you look constantly you can get good deals in personal sales such as $175 for 500 federal rounds. Or i can pick up loose winchesters at $.38 a round.

Hey wyccad915,

Nope, unfortunately they do not. Here doors open at 8am and they have new stock mon, wed, and fri. So these last 2 weeks I have been unable to go due to work but will be able to again next week. If you have one and can figure out their schedule you can get some cheap ammo if you are able to make it there at opening. Only draw back is unlike walmart where you are limited to 3 boxes of whatever you choose, at academy you are limited to 3 boxes (1 per caliber). But if you can take someone with you or get someone in line to buy you ammo as I have done then it's a good deal. Just yesterday I sent my buddy and they were selling 3 1000 round cases for $250. Not bad but I don't have that kind of cash atm.

Bummer, I live in Wisconsin. Ill just keep trying. Thanks for the info....

That is a bummer. If you can pay those prices though you can find stock. I just don't like spending that much even if they are jhp.

try the sportsman warehouse website. I read on here they add ammo at 11pm PST every night and sure enough they do. Some cheap 9mm, like $14. You can only buy 2 boxes per brand I believe so you're limited but you can get around it if you're able to grab some of more than one brand. Only thing is, the last 2 nights I checked they were gone in minutes. So you need to be on right at 11pm PST (Idk what timezone you're in), and you need to have an account with all your payment and personal info so you can do the express checkout and grab it quick. I could've got some 9mm last night but I didn't need any, and then I thought wth I should just get it, and just like that it was sold out. Shipping is cheap too. like $6.95. I personally was looking for .22 and I learned the night before last about how quick it sold and unfortunately they didn't have much selection last night but I'll be looking tonight. I figure I just wake up and go back to sleep after.

good luck.

Thanks for all the replies...will keep searching for good prices on ammo. Oh and I am in WI too for one of the previous posters and I went to many different stores and not a single one had any pistol ammo. Online is the only way right now but shipping prices are off the wall.
