What is your definition of hard? My Shield 40 doesn't seem overly hard

Just put 1000 rounds through my Shield 9. Not one problem. Used assorted ammo Blazer, Aquila, Winchester, Etc.

Enjoy, you picked a good one. I'd say get at least 1K round through it before you mess with anything. That'll cost a touch more than an apex kit, but be a better upgrade IMO.

congrats! a great little EDC! lots of after markets add ons as well (Pierce grips, night sights, etc) to make it even better

My shield takes a lot of force to the mag to seat it till it clicks. My son has the same problem with his. I have tried removing 1 round and the spacer on the 8 rd mag but with the same result. The 7 rd is also hard to seat. When the slide is locked back it is easy to seat. Does anyone have the same problem as I do ? And if so have you come up with a solution?
TIA
Describe "takes a lot of force".

When you insert a full mag in the pistol the last 1/4" or so becomes significantly harder due to it pushing the top round down (compressing the mag spring) and also from some drag of the magazine release catch on the mag tube just before it locks into place.

The solution is to push the mag in until it becomes hard then take your off hand and slap/smack it into place with the base of your hand, you're not going to hurt the gun or mag.
