Finally made it to the range today to try out the Shield 9mm that I purchased on next to the last day of the rebate. Just using some Winchester brown box to help break it in, I fired 120 rounds down range without a hiccup. While the gun ran flawless, I seemed to be hitting to the left on all four targets but it is too early to start adjusting the sights until I have a few more rounds downrange. With the exception of the one shot I jerked to the right edge, as shown in the attached picture, everything seemed centered on the left edge but it could also be me. Overall a good day at the range but a mag loader is in my future. By the way, the pictured loaded on it side so the bottom is actually the left edge.

I have a 40 cal. MP Shield. Love it! Shoots great and accurate. It is my primary carry gun along with my S & W 442 with C.T.laser grips. The 40 is also my TV watching and bedside companion.
The uplulu loader is a must for these old fingers.

My first Shield shot low and left until I got some snap caps and started dry firing daily. My second Shield did not shoot low and left. Its a matter of practice.

Personally don't see anything wrong but this can help if you feel you need improvement. Remember it's for self defense not a sniper pistol. LOL

Nice shooting Bob! My 45 Shield shot left and upon closer inspection the front sight was shifted left so that was an easy fix:)
Glad to hear that you went 120 rounds without issues, great gun, great value, enjoy it.

Yes, I really think that I have a Uplulu in my future. The shield magazines are a lot harder to load than my M&P 9mm compact but they say they will loosen with use. The range was 7 yards which always seems close but I figured for the first time with the pistol it was a good place to start plus I was using Rastoff's challenge targets which said for seven yards. I am going to get out the mike and double check the front sight location but I really do not want to move anything until I have at least a couple hundred more rounds through the pistol. The snap caps are a good idea as well. Thanks for the kind words and encouragement everyone.

My old hands and fingers insist on the use of the Uplula loader.
One thing I noticed about my 9mm Shield is that it took about 300+ rounds before it started to shoot really sweet for me. These guns need a lot of break-in rounds to kinda loosen up a little; but once it's there, it shoots some kind of nice. :)

ALL my guns shoot left! Some more than others...just the way my aging eyes see things. My normal group is about an inch or less left at 7yds. It may be because I shoot right handed using my left eye.;)

edit: I shot the Shield well right out of the box.

lgjhn, that is the reason that I want to get a few hundred more rounds down range to insure that the Shield is broke in and I am broke in with it. Some pistols I can pick up and shoot like I have been using them all my life but others take a while and sure enough, there are some that I can make them work but it is just that, work. Bottom line though is it is all fun, regardless.
