Vance Outdoors is building a new indoor shooting range located on Alum Creek Drive in Obetz. Site work has started, I don't know the completion date.

The 24 lane range is part of their second "Super Store", it's meant to take on Gander Mountain and the new Field and Stream Easton stores head-to-head. Good location right off the freeway should pick up all the traffic to and from southern Ohio. And trust me, Appalachians don't want to venture into C-Bus any further than they have to. Grove City isn't nicknamed "Grove-Tucky" for nuthin'! Should be a winner.

Obetz. Couple local DJs used to have a series of running jokes about Obetz starting with the towns name, which they felt sounded more like a color than a proper name. As in: Marge, they painted the living room Obetz and it looks awful.

I'm glad to see a new range open up in the area but I wish they had placed it more on the north end.

The north end already has NASR in New Albany, Black Wing in Delaware and the new one that opened up on Bethel Road. According to Vance's, the range is just a small part of what sounds like a Bass Pro or Cabela's complex!
And the "Grove-Tucky" comment was not a joke. Folks from home had to head north for jobs (me included) when all the factory/mining/railroad/steel mill jobs dried up. Most got up as far as the south side and said: "Close enough". Sorry if I offended anyone.
