New sights on 64 or like

I have heard of people taking a fixed sight S&W like a 10 or 64 and having a gunsmith add an adjustable sight to rear, and mill off the ramp front side and add something different like a fiber optic or tritium.

Does anybody have experience with a gunsmith or shop that does this type of work and could recommend?

It would probably be more cost effective to sell the gun and buy the equivalent one with adjustable sights.
A model 15 or 67 in this case.

It can be done; the factory model 640 Pro is similar:

But figure buying a fixed sight gun then adding 50-75% in gunsmithing costs, as noted in post #3.

These boys can do anything , it may not be cheap ...
I would call them and talk this project over .

For me ... and my aging eyes ... they took my model 64 and mounted a Millet SP-1 Red Dot Sight , years ago and solved all my eye sight / gun sight problems , along with one of their "Target Trigger Jobs" it turned that model 64 into the Best 38 special Target shooter ever !
