Well I bought a new 2013 Silverado 57 months ago, I had never had it in dealership since I drove it off lot.

So Friday I took it in just to have it looked at before my 5year drive train warranty was up in August.

They had a new white 2018 crew cab z71 on show room floor, so as I waited for my truck in the shop I decided to look over the new version

It had a window sticker of $49200.00
So I was not enticed until my old salesman that has sold me my last 5 new vehicles told me he make me a great deal, he said he'd sell me the truck for $36000 plus tax, title ECT
Still not interested unroll he stated he'd give me $20000.00 for my 2013, so after that he reeled me in, so I left there with a new white truck

I got it home and my wife promply took over my new truck

I saw a black one earlier today. Sharp looking truck! I'll bet a white one really rocks.

Congratulations!

Random weirdness:

Nothing to do with your/your wife's new truck (congratulations!), but the mention of the z71 reminded me of this photo a friend sent me a few weeks ago. Mostly funny for math nerds :)

Congrats on your new Truck! I am partial to GM's vehicles as I have owned them almost exclusively for over 20 years now. I have had much pleasure from them and no real grief. I use to get a new one every 3 years but since I drive much less now, my current vehicles should last me quite some time.

Congratulations on your new truck! I think the 2018 is maybe going to prove better than the 2019 from things I have been hearing. I love my 2014 LT crew cab but I'm thinking maybe a new 2018 would be an alright bargain right now. I think you got a heck of a deal!

She deserves a new truck.
I’m waiting for the 2019 and probably will trade up.

I've got a 10 yr old black truck in the driveway that I'd really love, I mean really love, to replace with a new white guy. White reflects the sun unlike black. Some days I look at the Sun and think I bet it's cooler up there than inside my truck. My little Chevy has had very few minor issues in ten years, and more importantly it's paid for. I envy the OP for having the income to support the purchase. :)

Never underestimate a sales person who needs to make monthly sales goals. ;)

I know it depends on options, et cetera, but a new truck at $ 49K is not a bad price...(ya, I don't want to spend that but around here they are $ 50K +).

I have a 2014 that I bought 1.5 years old. GMC Sierra. I have been going back and forth about buying a new one and like you giving it to the wife and then I'd drive here Honda Pilot. Primarily, due to the fact that I travel a lot for work and it gets better gas mileage. Who knows...not in a hurry either way.

I wish you guys would stop talking about buying new vehicles. A possible replacement for the Jag XJ I dumped popped up online and has my drool glands in overdrive. No, it's not another Jag. The only good thing is that it is a plane ride away, so maybe my bank account and other savings are safe...;)

Congratulations on your wife’s new truck:D

The new GM trucks are beautiful and full of lots of bells and whistles. Would be great to have one, but my 2006 Silverado crew cab 2500 HD diesel is in like new condition with only 55000 miles on it. Not even broken in, and it’s also paid for. Bought it to pull the 5th wheel and it sits in the garage most of the time.

I frequently joke about the number of white pick-ups here in Texas. About three out of five vehicles seem to be pick-ups and two of those three are white.

Meeting a guy to complete a transaction arranged by phone, I said, "I'll be in a white Chevy pick-up." He responds, "I'll be in a white Toyota pick-up."

I've sat at a stop light and been behind two white pick-ups with one beside me and one behind.
