New Stetson

I love my Baileys and my Scalas but I bought my first Stetson while in Tucson at Arizona Hatters:

man, that's a well-made hat! Great store, great customer service and lifetime blocking too...

I'm a happy guy!

Years ago a western store was closeing business and I bought a "Tom mix 4X stetson" for less than half price. It was too gawdy for me and I gave it to my nephew. He died right after that and I took it back. I still havent got the nerve up to wear it in public.

Why you look plumb owristocratic in that John B. Strap on a big ol S&W in that Alfonso rig and you are plumb set for any BBQ anywhere.

Heck you could even pass for a big cattle buyer a livestock auction barn in Wyoming!!!

I bought a Resistol one time and couldn't get over not wearing a Stetson so I put it in a Goodwill box. It doesn't cost much more to go first class. Larry

I gotta agree with felt Stetson in the winter, and straw Resistol in the summer, but thats just me!

In S. Florida, Stu? I find I can wear my felts from, maybe, October to March? Straw, sadly, the rest of the year.
THAT'S why I'm going to retire to Tennessee. Maybe pick up 3-4 more months of felt hat wearing!

I bought this Stetson at Yellowstone a couple of years ago. I like the fact that it is crushable. It is the "Wildwood".

For the 45 years of my life that I knew one of my uncles, I never saw him without a Stetson Open Road model. He never wore one inside a house and always had it on when he was outside.He bought a new one every year and gave his old one to his driver.

I have a Bailey, but am going to buy me a Stetson "Open Road" for my 68th birthday. I have also been wearing a Resistol Panama straw that I bought from Eddie Bauer in 1967. It has been through hell, but is still the best wearing Summer hat I have. I contacted Eddie Bauer about 10 years ago asking them to reblock it and they told me they didn't offer that service anymore. Some things change.
