New Stock for M&P 15

I am thinking of upgrading my stock and need to know if I should be the commercial or military spec stock.

New Stock

rds95991 What kind of stock are u looking at? I've got the MagPul ACS, really like it. Small storage compartment on one side,locks up solid and has a good cheek weld for me!

Mil spec. The magpul moe mil spec fits just a little snug but I like that vs the rattling stock.
 
Funny, I have been repeatedly told during my inquiries locally that my M&P15 uses commercial pieces! I did purchase a commercial Magpul ACS-L and it fits very well. No play at all. Pic Attached.....

My M&P-15T with the ACS was Mil-Spec fit like a glove.

Mil-spec

It fits a bit tighter than the OEM stock and has good positive click adjustments.

Mil-spec receiver extension is 1.148" dia. Commercial is 1.168" dia.
 
Wow, that Damage Industries ECS looks exactly like the one I just ordered for mine. A Doublestar TI7. Are they one and the same?

A commercial will work on a Mil-spec but not the other way around. Alot of small LGS's (at least around me) will stock more commercial stocks because they'll fit both & can sell to anyone w/a AR.

Usually will have a little slop when fully extended w/a com. on a Mil. Enough to really matter probably not, but some are picky like myself & wants really right for my firearms.

Thanks, Kodiakco. The new stock is set to arrive tomorrow. Can't wait. Looks like a nice one. I stumbled on it quite by accident, and the reviews were so great that I went for it. Something different from all of those Magpuls :)

Your welcome. You'll like the stock, it has a much better cheek weld and is more comfortable with the bigger butt. "I like big butts and I can not lie!" :)
