Cute picture, but before you run off in support of this piece, I would want to know, in no particular order: (1) does it have the crappy little Colt-style bushing with the tab that breaks off, (2) what is it made of, (3) is it reliable (remember that there are those that say the 1911 is just never to be considered reliable on a mass-produced basis with a barrel less than 4 1/4 inches (Commander length) due to the length of slide travel required to have enough time for ejection and to pick up the next cartridge.

I am sure we are all aware of individual examples of mini 45s that work, but they require frequent spring replacement and are a public relations nightmare on web sites like this where EVERYONE complains at every little malfunction which tends to amplify even the smallest problem.

I hope that S&W has their act together on this, but have my doubts.

Besides my 1911 Stainless, PD's, SC's and a PC945 Smith's, Colt's - Gold Cups, National Matches and Deltas.
I have one of each of the Para Warthog series and for a 3.00" barrel they have been flawless.
They hold 10+1 and have shot everything from HP's, FMJ ball to SWC's without a hitch.
Regards,
BM1
(These are stock photos from Para's website)
The black one is the Aluminum frame and the silver is the Stainless Steel.

I haven't paid much attention to the midget 1911's for a while (about 5-6 years) since buying the Kimber Ultra CDP. If I were to hazard a guess? After being burned by failures of most of the types of exotic barrel bushings they seemed to employ earlier on, I'd bet that most have gone over to the reverse cone muzzled bull barrel for lock up? The Kimber Ultra employs a guide rod retainer that isn't as prone to failure as has become famous in song and fable from some others. I've not had it fail anyway? But I DO replace the guide rod/springs once a year, regardless.
