New SW22 Victory 22LR target pistol?

It took me a year to get my new Mod 41 barrel from S&W, it was worth it.

I look forward to trying out a Victory!

If it ever becomes available in CA, but not likely due to our 'Micro-engraving" law requirement for new semi-autos sold here, I'd certainly be interested...

It does look like a cross between a Buckmark with the single screw barrel attachment and the style of the rear sight assembly with the forward attachment screw, and a Ruger MKII with enclosed slide/bolt and the shape of the lower frame where the barrel attaches.

If it is as un-picky about ammo as my Buckmark, it will be a winner. As much as I like my 2 M41's, I sometimes loath them for the ammo prima donna's that they are.

The other good thing here is a major gun manufacturer is jumping into the suppressor manufacturing business. Who knows maybe in the near future we will be able to protect our hearing without having to pay exorbitant fees.

I'm in!

The Guns America review is exactly what I was hoping to see, pictures and all. This pistol has the real potential to be a winner. The aftermarket world is going to make it another Ruger 10/22. And the cool part is, at this price point we can all afford to participate! I think I'm going to be in on this one.

.... "Looks aside" ....

IMHO not very many Target Pistols are aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Eye of the beholder and all of that. I really am more concerned with function and performance.

You want unattractive :

Enter the Beretta U22. I own 2 of these ... they are great shooters - eat everything. Not a true target pistol and not in the class of some of the pistols that have been mentioned but just using it as an example of a not the norm look in a firearm.

The Victory is a blank page ready for anyone's additions. Gonna be a lot of variations - another black hole for ones hard earned $$$$$$$ ... lot's of opinions yea and neah ... Price point will make it affordable for us plinkers for fun as well as the serious target and group shooters. Time will tell.

I have High Standard, Ruger, and Smith target 22's I think the new Smith is beautiful in its own way. I will have one on order very soon.

Anyone notice the "double bounce" of the breech block in the video's when it was fired?

I didn't notice it initially, but you are right, it's very distinct and strange. Don't know what to think of that for sure.

The accuracy of the stock barrel vs. the aftermarket was interesting reading. W/o a can, I can see sticking with stock for most brands of ammo. I may have to call my local funshop tomorrow and see if he's got one.

I too had a 22A that the frame cracked. It was replaced it with a M&P 9mm as they no longer had any I was searching for another 22 for bullseye shooting and came across this one. I ordered on last night and hope to be shooting it a few weeks.

good trigger, too

Does anyone REALLY think that S&W can't make a NICE trigger? Even the one on the .22A was/is sweet.

I'm surprised no one has gotten their hand on one, yet!

I love the smell of napalm in the morning. It smells like, sniff, VICTORY........
