Recently picked up a 19-5 in very nice condition. No holster wear, a faint ring around the cylinder but that's about the only sign the gun was used. Paid $500, probably a little on the high side but this is nice. This is my first go at an older revolver.

Thanks for the morale booster. I'm pretty sure I'll kill off any remaining buyer's remorse as soon as I get it out to the range.

One more pic, little better quality.

I'll take all of the $500 M19's you'll sell to me if they are in that condition.

I prefer the P&R M19's, but I wouldn't pass up the deal you got on that one either. Very nice.

For the money i'd say you picked up a real fine 19-5. What you paid is certainly not unreasonable at all. They are very accurate guns and easy to pack in the field. You didn't go wrong!

$500 these days is about rock bottom for any Model 19 that's mechanically sound with little or no holster and handling wear. Well done. ;)

6nexus, for what its' worth I paid almost that much for my M 19-5 two years ago, so I think you did just fine $$ wise. My -5 shoots just as well as my -3 or any other M-19 I've owned.

Now get that guy to the range ASAP.

Thanks for all the input everyone. Great to hear I got a nice deal.

Nice gun; I'm sure you will enjoy it and be glad you bought it. My first real handgun, bought about 30 years ago, was a 4-inch nickel Model 19. Other than swapping the beautiful wood grips for Crimson Trace grips it is just like I bought it, and still my go-to home defense gun. I think it is about as close to perfection as a handgun can get to the right balance of form and function.

I paid the same for a 19-4 4" P&R that dates to 1980 a couple of weeks ago & was happy to get it. After shooting it the other day I believe it is worth every nickel I paid, pretty sure you will feel the same way after you shoot yours. The 4" 19 is a great piece of work IMHO

Have the same exact one. Love my N frames but to me the K frame 19 fits better in my hand. Congrats you will love here just don't load them too hot , a few is fine but not a steady diet

Not a problem regarding the hot loads. At the range, 38's work just fine for killing paper.
