Was window shopping 3 local gun shops last night and when I got to the 3rd (and smallest), I found this sitting in the case.

It's about 90% on finish, in original box with wax paper, parts list, manual, an extra rear sight (factory adjustable) and a total of 4 factory mags. Price, $400. I did a quick check over and snatched it right up.

Took it to the range today and she's sweet. Here's a group of 5rds from 10yds. Ammo was Remington UMC 115gr Hollow Points (which it ate with no issue) .

This is my first 39 and I'm in love. It has a great feel to it and I love the smooth wide trigger. DA pull feels a little gritty when you do a slow press but when you give a good steady press it feels really nice. SA is just short of amazing.

My only question is can anyone date if for me? S/N is 108640 with no letter prefix (I mainly see S/N's online with an "A" first)

Thanks in advance.

Congrats on a great find. There may be better guns out there, but none that look better. And looking good is half the battle.

You did well indeed. I paid $375.00 for mine a couple of months ago, no box, no extra mags.

I had bought one a few years ago for $250.00 and like a dummy traded it off.

One of, if not my favorite, semi-auto.

Very nice gun!! My father gave my son a Model 59 that he never even shot a few years ago and everyone loves that gun. Excellent find there!!

You did very well on price! I paid $500 for a LNIB 3906 with tools, spare mag, and paperwork in OCT. It is one of the nicest guns to shoot - anyone who picks it up is impressed by its feel in one's hand, plus it is very accurate... Good job, I'm sure it will be one of your favorite pistols before long, if not already.

The only gun I regret selling was a 39-2 in perfect condition. Good find especially with 4 factory mags.

Congrats on the 39-2. I have owned one since 1985 and its a terrific pistol. Accurate and smooth as silk. Yours looks to be in beautiful shape. I have a set of Pachmayr wrap arounds that really solidify the grip. You got a great deal for all that and the factory mags. Smith & Wesson really got it right with the 39-2.
