I picked a new to me S&W RECON 40. It has been shot but show very little wear and is in overall excellent condition. I’ll take it apart, rum the parts through my ultrasonic cleaner, lube it, and put it together. Then it’s time for range testing. It’s a handful of a pistol but I have large hands. It’s my first 40 but I usually shoot a 45ACP or 10mm, so I don’t expect recoil to be a problem, especially with it being ported. After picking up a 4566 I was really impressed with the S&W build quality and now own a 1066 as well. I build 1911s and I’m truly a 1911 guy but the triggers on these autos is quite pleasing and the guns shoot well. If I could just find a REASONABLY priced 1066, I’d be weary content with my collection but seeing the prices of the 1066s is discouraging.
