I picked this one up yesterday on a trade and I'm real pleased. It's a 3 inch 625-3 in .45 ACP. I'm really looking forward to getting this one to the range...

Oh my, you are going to have fun with this one. The 3" barrel is my latest 625, having a another Model of 1989 4" and a JM PC 625 in 5". The few rounds I've fired in the 3" shows me this will be a shooter as well. Frankly, I prefer the Hogue rubber finger grip to the wood combat that I also have with it.

Looks very nice, congrats.

This one actually came with 2 nice holsters a Bianchi Cyclone and a leather pancake. Also came with 50 moon clips and 2 moon clip tools.

I also have a line on a 5 inch 625 in LNIB condition but he wants my S&W 1911 in trade for it - may do it though...

I've had a 25-2 for years (bought it new around 1967) and just this year bought a 625-3 five inch and a 625-4 three inch NIB. Like them all a lot. I haven't shot the three inch yet, not sure how much longer I can resist.

If the 625 is pre-lock do it. 1911's are being made in large numbers and will be easy to replace. a pre-lock Smith, especially in .45, is much harder to come across. If it has the lock, keep the 1911.

That was my line of thought exactly...

I pick up the 5 inch 625 today so I'll have a pair of beauties for sure!

Range day tomorrow as well...

Sound reasoning, as has been said you can get all the 1911s you want anytime you want while pre-lock guns will only become rarer. Here's my pair.

Gotta replace that yellow insert on the 3 in. I'll either go with a plain black ramp or a patridge.

Congrats!

Mine (kindly passed down to me from friend 38/44HD45) is one of those guns that has everyone who shoots it wanting his/her own. Heck, even Gina likes shooting my 3" 625-3!

+1 on the hogue finger grips. I have beautiful wood for my 3" 625, but when she goes to the range, she wears rubber.

Some of my 45's, including my 625 with wood.

Some day, some day it will be my turn.
