I just purchased a 952-1 and should have it in a week or so. I would like to try my hand shooting Bullseye. I’ve watched some rally helpful YouTube videos on shooting Bullseye matches so I understand the rules, ranges, and targets. I’m ordering some targets and would like to get some ammo for it. I have a ton of 9mm but most of it was purchased with defense and practice in mind, not match Bullseye in mind.

I’ve read lots of comments here on ammo thoughts but I don’t plan on reloading at this point but do have a Dillon 550 if I start shooting enough volume to merit it. IS THERE A GOOD MATCH AMMO I COULD ORDER TO GET STARTED? What brand and grain have you had good luck with? I’d like to get it ordered so when the gun is here I can head to the range. I’ve shot 1911 in USPSA type matches and have 10s of thousands of rounds down range but not much single handed so lots to learn.

I’ll post pictures when I receive it cause I know pictures are appreciated. It looks almost new and not shot much so I’m pretty excited.

You won't find 148 grain 38 Special wadcutters at Wally World, or even most of the large retail stores. Any of it you can find will probably work ok, does in mine (a 52 ND) anyway. The Winchester Super Match is about $50 a box when you can find it. I reload mine which works ok for my purposes but I don't shoot competitive matches.

Edit: Ok, bad advice, but when you get a 52, those wadcutters will work fine.

He has a 9mm.

All of my PC 9mm's prefer 124gr ammo . Atlanta Arms makes some high end competition ammo , but I've only used their 40mm . If you want something just for practice , check out Georgia Arms . I shoot a lot of their ammo , including 38 , 357 , 9mm , 40mm , 44 sec and 44mag . Some of their ammo is labeled "New Ammunition" which means it's loaded in Starline brass . So if you reload , it pays for itself . Southern Munitions is another outfit that "remanufactures" and I've shot plenty of their ammo . It depends on what you want and if you want practice ammo or what .

Picked up the pistol from my FFL today and the ammo arrived today as well. Must be an omen. I know that the case isn’t period correct but the pistol is mint, and show good maintenance and not a lot of use, plus it came with 12 mags. I’m going to give Bullseye shooting a try next week when I go to the range. I’m reassly excited about the pistol plus having another shooting discipline to practice. Thought you would enjoy a picture.

My PPC Master friend shoots a PPC-9 but an Internet Expert assured me that they have the same upper except for the PPC-9's trick Aristocrat sight.
He compared a number of loads and saved his Hydrashoks for the 50 yard line.
My factory load GSSF friends say that any of the Atlanta Arms "match" they have shot has been accurate, and those are all FMJ.
