I just received a robocall claiming to be from the "Microsoft Refund Department". The message is that Microsoft has been ordered by the government to make refunds to customers and to call a number given to apply for a refund. I have received many scam calls in the past about my "Microsoft license expiring" and to call some number about renewing it, but this is the first call I've had about getting a refund from Microsoft. I suspect it is a scheme to get all sorts of personal information from anyone who calls.

A robo calling machine has offered my answering machine the same opportunity for a refund. So far as I know my answering machine has not fallen for the scam.

Due to unskilled labor opportunities my county has a VERY HIGH percentage of immigrants from south of the border. Because of that my answering machine gets robo calls that offer one last chance to provide details on every one living here before ICE proceeds with a raid that will include arresting anyone present who can prove citizenship and ICE confiscating any questionable property found. Robo call scams never end. The only odd thing is that my answering machine is not recording IRS scams this year.
